The Nana Hotel is the low, sprawling block on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 4, directly opposite the entrance to Nana Plaza, and for a certain generation of traveller it is simply “the Nana.” It has been trading here since long before Sukhumvit became a skyline, and its ground-floor open-air coffee shop and bar — where men have sat watching the soi go past since the 1980s — is more famous than the hotel above it.
Book it for one reason and one reason only: position. You are thirty seconds from the plaza arch, five minutes from BTS Nana, and in the middle of the densest cluster of bars, street food, massage shops and 24-hour pharmacies in Bangkok. Nothing else on Sukhumvit is closer to the action, and after a long flight and a longer night that is worth real money.
The rooms are the honest part. They are large, they are clean, they are comfortable, and they have not been meaningfully updated in a long time — brown wood, older bathrooms, air conditioning that works but announces itself. Reviewers in 2025–26 make the same observation over and over: renovate this place and it would be the best value in the area; as it stands it is a dated three-star with an unbeatable address. The pool is genuinely good for the price, the wifi holds up, and the staff are used to every kind of guest and unimpressed by all of them.
Guest policy, as reported consistently by guests and the guest-friendly listing sites through August 2026: the Nana is about as relaxed as Bangkok gets. Visitors are registered at the desk, there is no joiner fee, and single and double occupancy are priced the same on most rates. Thai hotels are legally required to record who stays in the room, so carry your passport and expect your visitor to show ID. Confirm at check-in; front desks change.
Who it suits: a first-timer who wants Sukhumvit compressed into a single block, and anyone who values a thirty-second walk home over a marble lobby. Who it does not: light sleepers and anyone who wants a modern room — the Majestic Grande on Soi 2 and the Dynasty Grande on Soi 6 are quieter and newer for similar money.
