“Guest-friendly” means you can bring a visitor back to your room without the hotel refusing, charging extra or making a scene — usually after she leaves an ID at the front desk. A “joiner fee” is the per-night charge some hotels levy instead. The policy varies by country, by hotel and by whoever is on the desk that night; these are the hotels reported guest-friendly as of August 2026, no-joiner-fee ones first.
