Beach strips
#1Beach stripBeach Road
Pattaya· 00:00–24:00
Beach Road (Pattaya Sai 1) is the one-way seafront road running about 2 miles (3 km) from the Dolphin roundabout in north Pattaya to Walking Street in the south, with the beach and promenade on one side and hotels, malls, beer bars and numbered sois on the other. Baht buses run its length for $0.50 (฿15–20). It is the city’s spine by day and, after dark, a stretch known for freelancers along the promenade.

#2Beach stripJomtien
Pattaya· 08:00–01:00
Jomtien is the 4-mile (6 km) beach and resort strip immediately south of Pattaya over Pratumnak hill, 10–15 minutes by baht bus from Walking Street. The beach is wider and cleaner than Pattaya’s, the crowd is families, retirees and Russians, and the nightlife is smaller: the Rompho bar complex, the Jomtien Complex bar square, and beer bars along Jomtien Second Road. Beer is $2–3 (฿60–100). Stay here if you want a beach day and a quiet night; visit Pattaya for the scene.

#3Beach stripMactan
Cebu· 17:00–01:00
Mactan is the flat coral island across the bridges from Cebu City, holding the international airport, Lapu-Lapu City and the resort beach strip along Maribago and Punta Engaño. Nightlife is resort bars, a handful of beach clubs and a few standalone rooms — quiet by Philippine standards and closing early. It is the daytime half of a Cebu trip: island hopping, diving and a pool with a sea view, 30–60 minutes from the city.

#4Beach stripPatong Beach
Phuket (Patong)· 06:00–21:00
Patong Beach is the 1.8-mile (2.9 km) crescent of sand on Phuket’s west coast that Bangla Road runs into. It is the busiest beach on the island: loungers in designated zones, jet-skis and parasailing at the northern end, restaurants and beach bars along Thaweewong Road behind. Sunsets are excellent, the water is calm from November to April and dangerous in the monsoon, and everything shuts early — the night happens one block inland.

#5DecliningBeach stripBarrio Barretto
Subic Bay· 14:00–01:00
Barrio Barretto is a beachfront barangay of Olongapo about six kilometres north of the Subic freeport gate, and its stretch of the National Highway is the whole nightlife of Subic Bay: open-fronted bars, live-music rooms and expat restaurants along a kilometre you can walk in fifteen minutes. Beer runs $1.75–2.65 (₱100–150) and a ladies’ drink $3–5 (₱170–280) as of August 2026, there is no cover charge anywhere, and most of the strip is quiet by one in the morning.
